Bourbon Braised Ribs

3 pounds of ribs (vegan ribs work great too!)
salt and pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 sweet onion, diced
4 cloves garlic, minced
3/4 cup bourbon
1/2 cup maple syrup
3 cups broth
1 1/2 teaspoons dried thyme
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2/3 cup maple syrup
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce


Brown or sear your ribs to get a good Maillard reaction.
Combine all ingredients and slow cook until the liquid is reduced by half and the meat is tender.
